MISSION STATEMENT
The basic function of the Parks & Recreation System is to provide daily, year round recreational opportunities to all citizens of the community. It entails utilizing both indoor and outdoor areas, spaces and facilities for programmed and spontaneous activities.

PITCH, HIT & RUN
Saturday, May 5th | 10am-2pm @ the Sports Complex Baseball Field #4
Boys and girls ages 7-14 compete locally. Parents must be present to complete waiver. Highest scorer in each age division qualifies for District competition. Participation is free.
SUMMER PLAY CAMP
Register May 7th– June 1st | Mon.-Fri. from 8:30am-5pm@ the Parks & Recreation Department (in the Sports Complex).
Seven (7) weeks of activities, games and field trips for youth ages 6-12; junior volunteers ages 13-15. Camp runs June 18th– Aug. 3rd. Regular camp fee - $60 per week. Children on the reduced school lunch program - $50 per week. Children on the free school lunch program - $30 per week. Call the Parks & Rec. Dept. for more details.
TENNIS LADDER LEAGUE REGISTRATION
Register May 8th – June 1st | Mon.-Fri. from 8:30am-5pm @ the Parks & Recreation Department (in the Sports Complex).
Enjoy recreational tennis in a friendly and flexible league. Schedule your own matches and win to climb to the top of the ladder! Singles and doubles tennis offered (min. 15 participants/teams). Ages 16 & up. $20 registration fee.
DIVE IN MOVIE
Friday, May 25th | 7-10pm @ the Sports Complex Pool
Join us for the Pool Summer Kick-off Event. Watch a movie while in the pool or floating on an inner tube. Bring the family for some popcorn and entertainment.
OKEECHOBEE OLYMPIC GAMES
Team Registration June 4th – July 13th
Feel the excitement of the 2012 Summer Olympics by participating in Okeechobee’s Olympic Games. Register teams of 4-15 people to compete in Olympic-style events: Day 1 – July 28th & Day 2 – August 11th. Tentative list of events include: free-style relay swim, inner tube sprint, basketball shoot-out, synchronized swimming, table tennis, and field events. Junior Division 14-17; Adult Division 18 & up.
